Wierd Idle Problem

    82 Seca 750, just did a carb cleaning as the bike wouldn't start without the choke on. Bike now starts easily and idles nicely at 1100 rpm. BUT after a minute the idle will climb to 3000 rpm and stay there. The only way to get the rpms back is to play with the idle screw under the carb body.

    I checked for air leaks with starter fluid and appears to be none, carb clamps are all tight and carbs seating properly in the engine and air box.

    Any suggestions on what to look for?

    have you got caps on the vac' points on the boots? I had that prob' & found they were softening when hot & leaking, put double strap ties on o.k. now.

    I put new vacum caps on, the old ones were hard as rock.
