Now that you had it on PRIME for so long, make sure there is no gas mixed with your oil.
It is a good idea to bleed the brakes and replace the break fluid every time you replace the pads.
Like bigfitz says "just hook up a bleeder hose."
It takes about 5 minutes to warm up mine. Don't forget, it is air cooled and if not riding it, no air is cooling it down.

also keep the end of the hose in some break fluid, so it doesn't suck in any air accidentally.
You have to disconnect the fuel lines from the petcock.
you beat me to it. :) had to go out for a few minutes. :)
The first thing you do is place the petcock ON, that stops the fuel from fowing.
Remove the seat. Disconnect the fuel lines (2)
after you do all the things to bring the bike running. It is a lot cheaper than buying a new one or starting with another bike.
