Joel suggested a speed bike, good idea. So how many times have we all pulled up to a stoplight only to have a bunch of punk yuppies pull up on thier crotch rockets or turboed honda civics? Well it's time for them to eat our dust. We can show just how quick an "old bike" can be. Featured here is somethign a little different, there's a separation between the engine and the transmission. A belt drive replaces the internals and rejoins the two. This allows fro a stiffer frame. Something that might be nessacary with a fully hopped up drag-spec engine breathing gigggle gas and spitting flames at each twist of the wrist. As always comments/suggestions are always enocuraged.

    Hey Ian,

I don't know if it's your thing or not, but what about a sport bike version of an XJ? Maybe based on a Seca or something ;-). Justy a suggestion.

Nice work as always! Hard to tell from the dark colors, but is that the exhaust poking out the side right in front of the rear wheel? If so, that is definetly an idea I'm going to have to try!! :D

All these great little ideas you have are pure genius! If you don't mind me asking, what is your current job, or are you in school? You should really pursue some kind of design work as a carrer if you're not already.

I'm guessing you already are since you seem to be well versed in the 3d rendering, that's why I asked... 8)

Right now I have a glamorous, high paying position at my local pizza place as a delivery boy. U sually I like to have two jobs, one during the day and then pizza at night, however my daytime job in a plastic factory fell through, so now I just deliver. Sad to say good jobs are scarce in my town, and those that get them hang on with a death grip. Consequently a lot of young people move away to make thier fortunes on the oil rigs in Alberta(which is basically the Canadian version of Texas).

How did you learn all the 3d rendering skills? If that's all self-taught, then I'm even more amazed!! 8O

Also, just noticed the headlights mounted low on the forks, another great Ion innovation!!! :D 8)

to answer you're question, I learned 3d modeling like just about everything else, having a need to work out my ideas beyond in my mind or pencil and paper, then by doing until i got it right. The program used for all of these is Rhinoceros 3d, you can download a demo at their website here:
    Rinoceros 3D Nurbs Editing
then just play around with it. Since all of us work in 3d simply existing, once you know the basics, it gets easier to bring a design to life. There are tutorials that come with it, or can be found on the website that will teach you the basics(I reccomend the ducky one most of all), then you can start to create you're own stuff. I have found NURBS style programs to be easier to use than ones based on polygon construction(i.e. 3d studio max) Also if anyone would like the files for these bikes, they are avaliable to people who arent going to steal them and claim them as their own, just ask me in pm.
