Very very nice job. I appreciate one going back to near as stock as possible - no offense to the bobbers.

What size is that back tire?

    Beautiful... Simply beautiful :D

Thanks for posting the before-and-after pics, it makes one truly appreciate the work you've put into this. Probably looks even better now than it did when it first rolled out of the showroom!

    Great work.

    Cheers,
    Lucky

Nice, nice work cturek...simply much more patience (and time) than I will ever have. I'll have to keep an eye on EBay because my Maxim needs pipes and mufflers.

    Congratulations!

Fantastik man! Excellent job she looks gorgeous. My Maxim is down fore a while so I can do a complete carb rebuild and a bunch of other stuff. I'm hoping she'll look as good as yours when I'm done.

Very nice indeed Carl. Fine job; from your list it looks like you've covered everything.

Now all you have to do is ride it and see what sort of unexpected surprises it has in store for you.

Truly a beautiful restoration. Enjoy the ride and be proud.

BigFitz posted a couple weeks ago that often gets approached by people who notice how great his bikes look.

I would plan on allowing extra time when you go to the store in order to answer their questions.

    Enjoy!

Thanks everyone for the kind comments. I'll be getting a plate for it this week and can start putting some real miles on it.

I did take it out yesterday for about 10 minutes just around the neighborhood. It sputters just a little taking off from idle, but runs very smooth after that. It holds a steady speed very nice and accelerates without hesitation. The clutch works good, no slippage. It shifts and pulls thru all the gears which was a big relief as I had no idea about the condition of the transmission. While in third gear, I opened it up and WOW!! It took off like a bullet shot from a gun. Much more than my old 350 Honda did!

Working on the bike this past year was very enjoyable and I could not have done it without the resources on this forum. The sense of accomplishment of doing the work yourself does feel very good. Thanks again everyone.

I have the same color bike. I also like the seam trim on the tank. I think I'll do that to mine.
