1981 650 maxim runs like it is full throttle wide open

    My bike runs like it is full throttle constantly tthe actually throttle is not stuck. The slide diaphram is now sealing. I bought new needle jets. (last post). Could you name anything that could cause this.could a jet have vibrated out. I did some reasearch and they said it could be the slide. If you guys could give me some ideas to check that would be great.

    it's not the slides, they cant do that.
    you don't have the choke cable on the throttle.
    watch the throttle linkage as you move the throttle, should be no slack in the cable.
    i've had a part of the sync adjusters catch on a carb clamp

    Well we blew out all the holes with the air compresser and put it back on the bike and it ran perfect we really did not know what really did it but now it works
