I'm pretty certain my stock coils are junk as they both tested 3.7 and 3.8 ohms each on the primaries and infinite resistance on the secondary. Rather than spend money on old used coils I'm just going to cough up the cashed and buy a set of new aftermarket coils, and have been looking at the Dyna 3 ohm ones. Before I buy any though I have certain questions I hope other people might have information on before I make a mistake somewhere.

One thing is will the 3 ohm mini coils be a better fit with less modifications than the big green ones? Also which plug wires should I look into buying and what are the basics I need to watch out for on this switch that could potentially damage the new coils or the rest of the ignition system?

I should mention I do have some decent electrical skills, and I have a heat gun to use for the shrink needed on the wire connections. I also have fair experience using a soldering iron, but I have absolutely no experience welding although I do have access to one which is why I'm more interested in the minis vs the big green coils in that I hope to avoid having to move the one bracket that several other write ups I've browsed have mentioned having to move.
