1981 XJ650 2nd Gear Acts Strange

    When I'm really given her the beans in 2nd she kinda of like jumps RPM, doesn't really feel like it slips out of gear, just jumps from like 6k to 7.5k really fast.

    I've heard of this issue for the XS750, is there 2nd gear issues with the XJ650? 1981.

    you are in tthe power band at that point and it will go up fast.

    if it is not slipping and is picking up speed you should be good

    of course 6K -7.5K rpm in second is "given her the beans " but it is said you can redline in any gear with out issue
