1982 XJ550 - $1100 OBO - Peoria, IL

I am selling my 1982 Yamaha XJ550 Maxim. I recently purchased another bike (an '86 Maxim X), so this one has to go. It has been a great bike for me, and everything is in good working order.

Operation: This bike runs like a charm. I recently cleaned out the carbs and balanced them. Has plenty of power on the highway, and has full power all the way to redline.

Mileage: 23,200

Tires: Good condition, about 5000 miles on them. The front tire is a little newer than the rear, because it was replaced due to a puncture.

New Items: Battery, chain (<100 miles)

Blemishes: I will try to point out all the blemishes on this bike. There are several chips in the tank, most of which are visible in the pictures. No dents. Only a tiny amount of rust on the exhaust pipes, and only then on the backside of the pipes near the exhaust ports. The aluminum on the engine and wheels could use some polishing.

Extras: As shown in the pictures, this bike comes with a backrest / luggage rack. The backrest is adjustable, so that the rider can have a backrest when not carrying a passenger. The luggage rack has been very useful to me in the past, and can carry a lot of weight. I also have a spare rack of carbs (with some external screws missing, but all interior parts are there), a repair manual, and the original owner's manual.
