Is this available from anywhere as a kit? I have an 82 XJ550 that has some leaky seals and what not and I want to pull the motor and rebuild it with new seals and check the valve clearances, bearings, etc. Does anyone offer a kit to do this, or is this something that I have to piece together? Either way can someone point me in the right direction to get these parts at decent prices??

    Thanks in advance.

For gaskets, bearings and seals, try Dennis Kirk (www.denniskirk.com) I know they have the gasket kits and may have the rest. If you don't have any luck I'll check some other sources for you.

You could always keep your eye on ebay. I get quite a bit from there. Somehow people are always putting items on there cheaper then I can get localy or by mail.

    Just a thought.

I got a gasket kit for my xj 550 from e-bay, think I paid $30 + shipping, and all I have needed from it so far has been the cam cover gasket (which I just replaced 2 nites ago) If you are interested in the rest of it, drop me an e-mail, I am sure we can work something out

yeah, I don't see anything on eBay. TOmW, I may be interested in that as I know the oil pan gasket is also leaking. I would like to check the valve shim clearances, but don't want to open that unless I have another gasket lying around for when I am finished. I might get the kit from you, then look for another cam cover gasket.

    You have PM.

Bear in mind most gasket kits do not have the seals in them. You will probably need to source them as well. Hit Parts-n-More. Good luck.
