Nice sunny day today going to the mid 60s, had a crap load of rain over the last week so the streets have been de-salted, so I decided to ride to work. She's running good, only caveat at the moment is it's so light and nimble the wind kinda messes with you more than on a 800Lb bagger.

    Looking good!
Did you go slightly oversized on the front tire or is that just a parallax?

Front tire is modern equivalent of the stock size I believe: 100/90H-19

I still need to do some finishing touches like polishing the engine covers on both sides. I have one question though, I was looking at it today and noticed I think somethings missing. On the left side there seems to be a little gap underneath the left side cover where something goes. There is a little stud there and a plastic housing behind it but I just see a hole. I've looked at some photos online and some I see in the same config as mine and others I see what appears to be something attached to that stud. Any ideas? I can take photo later and show better than I can explain.

If I remember correctly, my xj650 had a chain stored in that compartment to lock the bike to something, and it laid in a plastic housing under the side cover

Yep. Both the 650 and 750 have that feature. The chain was more of a visual deteran than an actual security measure, so there's no need to go looking for one unless you're planning on having the bike judged.
