Hello everyone. My bike runs really well, starts easily and climbs to 3000 rpms with enricher on. It idles around 1200 rpms when hot but if it sits in the rain all day at work, on the ride home it will idle below 1000rpms at red lights. Which part of the bike is sensitive to humidity? Could the coils be getting water from the front wheel?
    Thank you guys in advance.

Possible...pull the tank check for cracks in coils. but you might also have a slight vacuum leak around boots...it might pull in moisture ....

does it fall below 1200 rpm if you start it and it warms up without riding it?
is it raining when you ride or just wet roads?
could your air filter be getting wet?

Hi and thanks for the replies. These are all good tricks that I will try: tighten the boot clamps and spray water on the coils. If it is the coils, can I use some type of sealant over them? By the way, stock airbox, new filter, new cables and NGK plugs, new plugs and like I said, it runs ( I figure) like new when the weather is dry but gives me that
heart-stopping feeling when the rpms suddenly drop in stop-and-go traffic in wet weather (raining).

I am running Honda CB750 coils 81 vintage they mount in stock location , and have removable plug wires. My stock coils had cracks in bodies . The Honda coils are cheap on eBay and my bike runs great with them.

check to see if the exhaust pipes are all getting hot to determine if you have a non firing cylinder.

you can coat them with rtv gasket sealer

Back when new coils were unobtainium, and aftermarket coils cost a fortune, cracked coils would be repaired with epoxy, after a thorough clean-and dry. You can splice in new plug wires, either by cutting the epoxy away and digging the wires out, or by using a splice that NGK makes. Those are cheap, and effective repairs that will last for quite a long while.
