    Bought this bike as a project bike from a good friend in may 06. Pulled the exhaust off, pulled the carbs off to clean them, had the bodywork painted, put a new battery on it and and then started college and had no time to work on it. Bike was last running at the end of 03 then was parked. It will turn over electrically by using a screwdriver on the starter solenoid. It isn't getting spark but I have had no time to mess with it. I would think that all it needs is a new wiring harness or maybe just some simple electrical work to get it back on the road. I also have another seat with a high back that I will give the buyer

    The good
    1982 Yamaha xj650
    21,xxx miles
    New paint
    New battery
    4-2 exhaust

    The bad
    Doesn't run
    two of the exhaust studs on the motor broke off
    Front brakes need to be bled
    needs tires.
