1983 XJ650K for the Taking

For anyone in the Edmonton area (or elsewhere if you want the drive) I have a XJ 650, complete but not running, for the taking. It was apparently running 4 years ago, and I took it as a project that has just sat. Can't confirm it would run now. Has about 35K km and the tank (leak) is shot and the seat cover is totaled. Chrome has numerous surface rust specs and the paint is faded. Comes with original owners manual, service manual, shorty backrest (not shown) and spare set of carbs. If no responses I'm taking it to a wreckers but would rather give it to an individual than a company.

Pictures attached (dust actually hides some of the chrome pitting and paint fading).

 

I'm a bit far away, but would jump at it if I could. Who ever ends up with it, I'd love to buy the rack off the back, and maybe the wind shield... tank, side covers...

You could just part it out.

If you are around the GTA, I have windshield, backrest, rear fender, signal lights, seat cover, tach/speedo cluster, headlight, tail light and some other stuff of interest. All is in great shape. let me know if you are interested.

if you dont sell it i wouldnt mind having the mufflers, these straight pipes ive got are too loud for my liking, they will need to be shipped, but i would cover shipping costs

 

I will take it if i can find a way to get it back to calgary i don't think it will fit in my cirrus!

 

Well, it's going to the salvage yard in the next day or two. I would have liked to give it to someone privately, but I have to get rid of it. No time to part it out.

br11 called me a couple of days ago and arrangements are being made to have the poor, defenseless little XJ transferred to my garage.

No date with the crusher necessary!

I looked at the members map and I don't think I could've been any farther from him and still been on the mainland.

 

If you hurry, you just might beat the snow! Going for a ride in 40 minutes, just need to get away from the office. October 29 in North Central Alberta and still riding. And getting on a big silver bird to Maui tomorrow morning.
