:x I am having some minor problems with my 1983 Seca Turbo. It turns over, but won't start, and whenever I go to play with the starter silenoid/relay it shorts out, it is a break in the wire I have fixed, and it is still doing it. My mechanic thinks it is a wiring problem somewhere, but he hasn't touched bikes since 1977, so I need some help. I found some wires not connect to anything. Where do I start to begin, and where might the problem be?

Is your battery freshly charged?. Are you getting gas to the carbs? Are you getting spark? Does your fuel pump work? Lots can go wrong with this bike. You can also get probably more help at the Turbo motorcycle message board. There is a specific board just for these bikes. They are fun to ride when you get them running right but to get to that point is a royal pain the BEEEEP.

Battery is fine and everything else now but I have gotten a Carter fuel pump that will deliver the appropriate psi to the motor. Now I am having carb problems since the professional idiot I took my baby to decided a bench synch would be "good enough to help stabilize the rpm's, had a nice chat with him and didn't have to pay since he didn't do what he promised. Irritated and frustrated to get my baby back to road potential now. Any ideas on this now?

First off does it start now? its been a few months. You mention the starter solenoid shorts out. Does the bike start when you short the solenoid out? Have you checked and possibly cleaned the sidestand switch?
