1984 XJ750 - $1800 - Toronto

Well the time has come. I guess I knew it from the start that living in a condo and owning a 25 year old bike was a bad idea. Driving it to my mom's for oil changes, driving it to a mechanic to wrench on it instead of me. It all sucks.

Anyway, it's time to move on and be happy with the two years I've blasted around town and country on this bike. The nice thing about being on this forum is I don't have to explain anything about this bike :lol:

There's 34,500 kilometres (about 22k miles) on it. I've put 6 on it commuting to work almost daily and a few 200 mile+ treks.

Last year I replaced the battery, stock exhaust (Harley sportsters) and air filter (K&N). Last week I replaced the rear tire and brakes. Front brakes were also tuned up but didn't need replacement. I change the oil every 4k or so and also when I store it for the winter. I've never taken the carbs out for cleaning so that might be a good idea for the next owner. The bike starts well, doesn't clunk or make any funny sounds going through the gears and doesn't leak anything. Just an amazing engineering when you think how old it is! Doesn't appear to have been dropped but there are a couple dings on the gas tank. I regularly run the tach up to 8k just for that sweet wide open, inline 4 sound.

I started sanding all the build up off the chrome bits but I'm losing interest now that I've got my new bike.

Comes with saddlebags, tombstone windshield, engine guards and shop manual. I'll get it certified for whoever's interested.
