I got this bike about 10 years ago. I never rode it after the first year because the engine started missing and I didn't have time for it. Now I can't get it to run. It would start...but wouldn't stay running. It is in pretty good cosmetic shape and has appox. 17500 miles on it. Any idea what I should ask as a selling price?

Hard to say w/o more info. If you get it running it would be worth far more. Not running basically scares away just about anyone who isn't looking for salvage or parts. You might get $300 in not running condition, if it's in really good cosmetic shape and low miles you might get $1200 or more if it ran-it also depends on your market area, what similar bikes are going for.

Your problem is likely your carbs and could be fixed with about 2 hours of research and 10 more hours of cleaning, with a few bucks spent on parts.

Thanks for the comments. Yes I have the title. No, I'm not putting another penny in it so I guess it is salvage. The dealership said it was too old for them to work on. The actual motorcyle shop I took it to charged me $100 to check it out but said it needed carb work and they wouldn't. The first guy off CraigsList said he'd do it, but after a month I went to go get it. He charged me $250(just for the labor he had in it). The next guy from Craigslist came back for more money after I was $250 into him...I told him to get lost. Is there anything that will remove this "stupid" tat I have on my forehead?

    Basics first. Where are you?
    Pictures?
What does "missing" mean? Chugging? Knocking?
Has it literally been sitting 10 years?
Where? In a garage or outside?
    thks

KCluke, where are you at? Can you update your profile/signature? There's enough knowledge on this site to get that bike running perfectly.....
