Up for sale is a 1985 Yamaha XJ750X with 60,000 original KM's. I guess it's not fair to call it a project bike, because all that I did over the winter is remove the carbs, valve cover and other misc parts to check the valve clearances. They need are not terribly out, but should be adjusted. All the parts are neatly organized in a box. The bike was running fine, but I have neither the time nor interest in putting the time into it.
The bike is located in Port Coquitlam (Just outside Vancouver BC). I am looking to get $300.00 out of it and would prefer not to part it out. Hell, the rubber is worth near that..... Anyway, if anyone is interested, leave a message,
    Neil

has the valve cover been off for awhile? allowing dust to accumulate on the cams?

Hi FTUP, it has been open for about 6 months. All covered so any dust exposure will be minimal. But as the buckets will have to be swapped, the cams will have to come off anyway, right??

Yeah, she cleans up nice. Progressive springs on front, steel braided brake lines (But the front brake feels hard) , and a low milage Metzler M880 on the rear. A few beauty marks here and there, but overall good for the girls age..

yes but you still have the inside of the engine open and dust is the enemy to the interior of your engine. but $300 is still a steal for that bike.

Oh no, all open parts have been rag covered since it was opened up. Don't like shit getting into the open bits..

    Oh wow, what a beauty.

Maybe you'd be interested in driving a little south into Washington??

I was thinking just past the border, and I'd meet you.

But upon further research, it might be a bit more difficult to import it than I thought. I don't know how it would work since I never transported it through customs... but I need to do a tad more research.

Can you take a photo of any of the stickers on the bike? I want to see if it will say anything about US EPA / DOT compliant.

Yup, no problem. I will also do some research on my side to see what I can dig up.
