    It was a nice machine in its day. They still use the same engine concept in the Vmax and the new Cruiser style Venture...

    wow, I have a friend who's an older gentleman looking for a Venture just like this! He claims he wants to avoid the 1st (?) generation models because they were prone to failing 2nd gears... this bike would suit his needs, and it would be GONE in a heartbeat if it was closer to our area. That seems to be a good buy

    Guess that works out about the same as the £510 I paid for my XJ.... Hmm, who's gonna be the lucky bargainhunter then?

    I'd have it if I was within 3000 miles lol

    JohnStonePhoto is 100% correct. If that were within 100 miles of me I'd pick it up tonight yet.

    Anyone in the area looking for one should jump quick.

    BTW, it was the MKI 1st generation Venture that had 2nd gear problem. Those are the 1200s. The MKII (86-93, 1300 engine) is rock solid.

    Huh, best I can do closer to home is a royal venture star 195 miles away for £5000.... Wish I hadn't seen that one on CL, I want it now! Even a nice shade of blue.

    There are two different weights......

    the standard NON-California model (XVZ1300DS) weighs 783 lbs
    the California one (VXZ1300DSC) weighs 785 lbs

    Those weights are with oil and a full fuel tank.

    That is directly out of the owner's manual.
