1987 FJ 1200 CARBS ON 1982 XJ1100?

Can anyone tell me if a set of carbs off a 1987 FJ1200 would work on my Xj1100? They look the same as far as linkage and they have the duel fuel feed same as the XJ setup.

I was looking at your last post about the stuck mixture screw, and did a search of the XF1200, but can't come up with the bike.
Do you mean FJ1200?

OK then, and i presume you're after carbs for the XJ1100?
The FJ1100 or 1200 carbs are 36mm and the XJ1100's are 34mm.
How stupid of me, 'course you are, should have read the title, doh.
Are the carb bodies different?

The FJ carbs do fit onto the XJ carb stubs, well at least they do onto the XS1100, i've done it, it's just a matter of jetting.
I'm no expert whatsoever regarding jetting.

 

Okay now I know not to think in that direction 36 mm too big.

No they need to be placement specific. I need the inner left carburetor or body.
I really need get this resolved as inexpensively as possible. The carbs I have are clean and good with new parts. I sholud try to save the set. Switching out a body would be ideal. Just cant find one at the moment.
If anyone knows where one is let me know.

Put a post in "Sell, Trade, Swap, Wanted" for a #2 carb or body. Somebody's bound to have one.

(Carbs/cylinders numbered 1-4 from left to right; "left inner" = #2.)
