Has anybody tried to mod or know how to mod the handle bars on this bike? I would like to raise the handle bars but have no idea if this can be done! Any help appreciated.

    i assume its a european xj600?
if so its not easy as the bottom of the fixed 2 piece handlebars have a course serrated fixing.
the only way i can see, is to fit some universal handlebar raisers like this
    http://www.busters-accessories.co.uk/pr ... bar-Risers
then fit some one piece handlebars to the raisers.
you would need some deep "u" shaped bars to raise them more than the originals

you would also need to check the extra length needed on the cables , wiring and brake hose.

Its a European bike and the handlebars are fixed each side (2 piece assembly) into a serrated type bracket that locks each handlebar into position. Just checking if any one else out there had managed to find an alternative handlebar solution. Will post pics tomorrow. George

I'm thinking a couple longer bolts and a couple "pucks" cut from 1" marine grade plywood, or Polyurethane shock bushings.

    ( I want a 10,500 redline ! )

yep, suppose that could be a solution, but the serrations would have to bite into the spacer material quite a lot , other wise the bars would tend to spin on heavy braking ,or when maouvering bike.
i still think it could be a fix ,by fitting raisers and one piece bars.
