1st Gen R-to-F wheel conversion kit ... gauging interest

This kit was orignally designed to DIY swap a '81-83 16"x3" rear wheel onto the front of a '81-83 XV750 or 920 - to fit a 130/90-16 or 120/80-16 tire. Also worked on similar vintage XJs. Single LH disk brake only - any dual-disk bike needs to be converted to single. Prefer that you first acquire your donor wheel first and let me know what drum OD (8" or 8.75") so can supply the proper size drum cover.

All of these rear wheels interchange directly onto the rear of a XV750/920 or XJ650/750 and can be used on the front with the appropriate drum OD conversion kit on the front.

To convert to a wire-spoke wheel(s) using my kit, you need to find the rare '84-86 15x3 XV700 wire-spoke rear wheel(s) ... and either run 15x3 front/rear or custom re-lace them to larger rim hoops. Use my 8" drum OD kit to convert to the front.

The kit includes:
Billet rotor adapter hub
Billet drum cover
LH wheel bearing
RH wheel bearing w/ID reducer
Adapter hub-to-wheel and rotor-to-adapter hardware
Instruction manual

Speedo works the same - indicated will read ~3-5 MPH faster than actual because of the smaller overall wheel+tire OD (than OE 19" wheel+tire).

Final kit cost is $175 shipped in the 48 States and $195 shipped elsewhere.

If you're serious about wanting a kit and I'm out-of-stock, require that you send a min $30 deposit or pre-pay - PM for for details on how to do so. 10 pre-orders are needed to kick-off the next batch ... if not enough received then will refund. The parts take 4-6 weeks to make once production kicks-off.

hi mate just looking at the kits do you have one to use the drum brake from the rear wheel i just fitted a rear wheel to the front of my project and like the look of the drum brake,

Good news / Bad news

Good news: the latest batch kits should start shipping out late this week - for those that have ordered, I thank your for your patience.

Bad news: the latest batch is nearly sold out! After receiving enough deposits, production kicked-off just before Christmas. I uncharacteristically received many more inquires and pre-paid orders than usual since then ... and now only have 2 remaining kits available from this batch. If you anticipate wanting/needing a kit before April, you need to order from me ASAP. Last 2 kits are 8.75" drum covers - your donor rear wheel will need to be a cast swirl-spoke, 5-bolt spline hub drive 16x3 XV920/XJ750 or 18x2.15 XJ750 Seca.

This round was unusual batch demand ... took a long 2.5 months to gather 10 deposits for production and the rest of the batch practically sold-out in a month during the typical 6 week manufacturing process. Usually kits sell at 2-3/mo.

When the 2 remaining kits are sold, I'll ask for deposits/pre-paid orders to determine interest in the next batch - hopefully they'll come in faster with riding season approaching. If demand continues at it's recent pace, the batch could be ready to ship by mid/late April.

Discovered other wheel choice options ... a cast RADIAL STRAIGHT 5-spoke and a cast TWISTED STRAIGHT 4-spoke - both have 5-bolt spline hub drives.
