I'd like to modify a Maxim slightly to a Cafe Racer or a Bobber style, but not too short on the back end.
Primarily, just to modify the seat contour and the tail section.

Avoiding the look of a rooster missing its tail :)

I already have a plan for the front end through the mid section of the bike.

The reason is it should still be able to ride two-up, or carry some stuffs on occasion.

Would really appreciate if you have some advise or pictures to share with.

I like that thinner seat, and wish it is also thinner on the back-end, so it would be good for a passenger too.

That seat isn't meant for a passenger, but you can have a seat made with a removable hump. You get the look of the gunfighter seat, and a place for a passenger. The early Buells had a flip up hump that acted as a backrest for a passenger.

If it's too nice she might want to ride more often

You may have to make that one yourself or find a custom shop to make one. I don't think there's much off the shelf that looks like that.
I sure do miss Buell. Eric Buell, no longer affiliated with HD, makes his own REALLY exclusive sport bikes now.

Check it out. Made in USA, definitely not Harley!

The issue of getting a flat tracker/bannana seat like that on our bike is the rear frame rails where the shocks mount to. Unless you cut the frame and weld in new rails and shock mounts you will never get that perfectly flat seat.

Although you can fake it by having a seat that is 2 inches tall by the gas tank and then 1 inch tall from the shock mounts back. I'll post some pics of what i am going through with my build where im trying to accomplish the same thing.

The way I am getting "around" the hump is having a 2 inch tall seat that thins out to 1 inch in the rear to give the illusion of a flat seat. The kick up is what the wife wanted... she was scared she would slide off the back without it.

Killer job - looking to do the same to mine. Do you have a pic of the finished seat?
