550 carbs-any compatable (or better) carbs that can be used?

    Hi guys. this is my first post...

    I just bought a xj550 mounted in a KLR650 frame. I call it 'Godzilla" and am trying to get it running properly.

    The motors pretty good but the carbs are stuffed, each of the diaphrams have holes in them and the slides & needles are pretty worn.

    I'm tossing around the idea of changing the carbs.

    Are other model carbs the same (eg 400 or 600cc xj's?).

    Im running straight thru pipes and no fuel filters (at the moment) but will be using K&N filters soon as I pick some up.
    maybe this will make a difference in jetting...

    any compatable carbs or info would be great.
