First off thanks to Bob Bersin I am now proudly in possession of a 1983 Maxim 550. My brothers and I gifted the bike to my mother who was forced to give up riding shortly after I was born some 24 years ago (my parents had 650 Maxims).

Now to the problem: removal of the generator rotor. I understand it is bolted / pressed onto the generator shaft however I have had no luck finding an appropriately sized jacking bolt to pry the rotor off the shaft. Can anyone confirm the bolt needed as an M16x1.0, and does anyone know where I could purchase an appropriate bolt locally? I have tried AutoZone, PepBoys, Advance, Home Depot, Lowe's, all with no luck.

I know I can order one from Len, but I was hoping to have my mom on the bike by Monday if at all possible.

I don't know if you have them in your neck of the woods, but here we have a shop called Fastenal. There are some around NJ, just don't know if there are any around you.
