Ok I've looked every where and I am not finding an answer. I have a 550 maxim and the carbs are beyond repair, so my question is will the carbs and the carb boots from a 650xj fit in my 550?
the reason I ask is because the carbs from a 650 are larger and would be able to produce better air flow. And I have a nice set of 650 carbs.

    Thanks

NO, they will not fit, not without an incredible amount of modifications, time, expense, and effort!

Won't be too difficult, I believe there's a rack on eBay right now. I got TWO spare racks o'carbs for 550s from eBay, one for $25 and one for $55. The cheaper set are definitely for parts, the other set is damn near able to go on the bike as is. I'm going to go thru it and have it as a "service spare" since I have two bikes.
