being that I work for the local cell phone dealer, I quite often get good deals on cell phones. So i got one for sale right now for $200...... $200 just so happens to be the going price for 2 other xj's in town here. There is a 550 maxim either an 81 or 82 (i looked at it once but i cant remember) and the other is an 84' 650 which i could either use as parts for MY 650 or fix it up again. Im kind of wanting the 550 so i can Bob it, but im pretty sure the 84 is in alot better shape than the 550 which i know needs the tank de rusted.

    Any opinions on this matter?

If it were me in your situation ide be leaning towards the 84. question is, would I want it as a parts bike, or another road ready bike I can ride while fixing the other if something breaks....

If you want another ridable bike, get the 550. At least you would have something different. I wouldn't want 2 bikes that are the same, but that's just me.

I see where both of you are coming from but i happened to sell the phone today so i picked up the 84 because i can use it for parts or chop it (so i wouldnt have 2 of the same bike), but also if i do chop it, and screw it up, i still have . the useable parts

Yeah, that would really suck... I can't imagine why ANYONE would want two of the same bikes...

Truth be told, after I finished the white one, a little voice inside said "I gotta get me ANOTHER one of these" and I listened.

I'm not sorry at all. Now go talk to Hogfiddles or MNMaxims.
