i had this thing running fine without air filters and with some prefilter foam until my aftermarket pods cam from ebay.... now.... the thing seems like its flooding twith the pods on and running rich... opposite of intuition and science.... it was running lean before and i assumed it was because the intake was leaking after some rtv and some prefilter foam ran good.... now this.... am i misdiagnosing? smells rich. back fires. sluggish in the throttle......

also...... should crankcase viewfinder empty oil when running? when off its full but running it empties.... i know thats kinda a dumb question but also ocunterintuitive to me....

Can't help you on the pods; except to say it sounds like yoou might need to revisit the float levels.

As for the oil level, yes. Nothing will show when the bike is running; and for an accurate reading wait about 10 minutes after shutting it off, and be sure to check with the bike on the CENTER stand or held vertically.

It "empties" because the oil is all drawn up into the motor and busy "working" then when you shut it off it drains back down.
