Here are a few pics. Got the frame painted, picked my tank and fender color, I will be using a Maxim 650 tank on the final build, not this one. Motor should be back in the frame in two weeks and still need to rebuild front calipers, order a few gaskets and throttle tube, but it's getting there. Plan to hardtail it, but going to wait a little while, I want to ride it for a while before I take that step. EVERYONE I KNOW HATES THE FLAT RED, BUT IT IS MY BIKE.

I dig the flat red. I can't say I've seen anyone else use that color choice, so it's unique. Nice start. Can't wait to see more.

Here are a couple with the tank I'm using. I'm getting some 10in shocks from Koolaid so that should put the rear end right where I want it, at least until this winter. Motor will be going back in Sunday ( finally found someone to help get it back in)

    Love the fender chop!.
    Now.......go the distance.
Cut a notch out of the shaft cover, bend a little sheet metal
over the new hole and put a nice fat tire on the back.

Thanks guys, the speedo is from the PO, he didn't like the factory set up so he cut it all apart and this is what your left with, unfortunately he cut a bunch of wires to so I had to do a lot of rewiring.

WOW....I just looked at the list of bikes in your signature. How about pics of the vulcan 900 before you returned it to stock, the kat, sv650, and the virago?

Really like the way this is coming out. The silver frame with silver tank combo looks great.

Here is the best pic I have of the Kat, it had alot of motor work done by the previous owner gsxr 750 swap, full D&D race exhaust, stage 3 jet kit, pod filters. Unfortunately this one is at my Aunts in Nashville, so I don't get to ride it that often and I'm scared if I bring it home my wife will want me to sale it. Oh yea, this bike also hit 174mph using a gps, stock speedo stops at 160.

Finally making some progress. Got the motor back in, headers on, rear fender mounted, and made a new seatpan which still needs to be mounted. Waiting on a set of 10 inch shocks and new carbs. Thinking about making it a bagger using two ammo cans for the battery and electrical. Still have to make my intake also, pvc here I come.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

Looking great man... sorry about the shocks. I hope they get there soon.
Since I didn't sell you mine I'm thinking of just using them after all and hardtailing it later on down the line after I find a better welder cheap, so I can do it all myself.

I'm thinking about doing the ammo can dealio as well. I was just going to slap one on the side though....not two. It's nice having you a few steps ahead of me. Get all the kinks worked out, so I can learn from your msitakes :D

Hey, I'm not trying to be your test dummie :D . I stuck a friends hardbags off his Harley on it the other day and really liked the way it looked, he said he'd sale them to me for 300, but that's more than I paid for the bike, so I'm just going to get a set of large ammo cans and mount them up. I figured I'd use one for battery and electrical and the other for storage. As far as hardtailing mine I think I'm going to hold off. There's a guy down the road with a XS650 for sale, he's only asking 400 for it and it's in top notch shape. My wife has already said no, but I didn't hear her. It would be a perfect project for a hardtail, but will see. He's really into guns so maybe I can work out a trade.
