I've been searching the last couple hours having no luck finding a problem as specific as mine.

My front and rear turn signals are not coming on. The right side works fine. Brake light works fine. Turn signal light by speedo and tach comes on when I go right, but won't come on for the left side.

Forgive me for being such a novice, but I've got to start somewhere.

i would check both front and rear bulbs , also check the grounds on both inside the assembly. also if the bulbs are fine use a multimeter and see if they are getting juice. not hard to do and only takes a few min

just rode about 80 miles and halfway through my left turn signals started working and my headlight went out, i'm guessing i've got a short or 2 somewhere on mine.

Check your bulbs, check the bullet connectors, check the connections inside the headlight bucket.

You may also need to disassemble the lamp sockets and clean them. They use a spring and a ring-shaped contact to make contact between the positive wire and the base of the bulb. The spring to ring surfaces tend to rust. Cleaning them up with sandpaper and/or a wire brush, and greasing them (and the bulb) with dielectric grease will fix that issue for a long while.

However, the typical symptom when the sockets start to go bad is that one lamp will come on and not flash, and the other will stay off. If neither is lighting, the problem's more likely the turn signal switch itself (the one on the handlebars). This can also be opened, cleaned, and greased with dielectric grease).
