    Hello,

I am looking to sell my 81 maxim 650. The bike has about 15k on it and is in reasonable shape for bike it's age. I have pictures, but am having problems posting them. I'll post them as soon as they are re-sized.

The good part is that the tires only have about 700 miles on them (dunlop 404's), the coils a very good used set, and the seat is in great condition.

The bad part is that recently, the engine has started blowing oil out of one of the carbs and into the airbox (bad valve, blowby?). It will start and run, but I would not consider it reliable.

There are many good salvageable parts on this bike. At this point in my riding career, I'm looking to upgrade to a bigger bike anyway, so I'm going to need the garage space. I have the title and keys ready to go.

I will not sell individual pieces off this bike, so don't ask.

Local shipping can be arranged for a reasonable fee. I am in zip code 44125. Pickup is prefered however.

I'll consider all offers. Leave me a message or post a reply if you are interested.

Ouch, oil in the airfilter. Had the same thing happen to me after my well meaning brother did an oil change and put 5 quarts of oil in the case! It never ran right again even after draining the motor to the right level. What a mess. I think I cracked a ring. Ended up replacing the motor. Wish I was a little closer Dfijalk, I'd jump on it. How much you asking anyway?

You know, I'm not even sure what it's worth in it's current state.

I know it's not worth a whole lot. I have an idea of what I would like to get out of it, but I'm interested in seeing what kind of response I get from this posting. I know I can make more parting it out, but I don't want to do that.

Let's just say it won't take a goldmine to bring this one home. I got my use out of it, and it was an excellent starter bike. It's worth more to me to sell this in one piece than to sell a bunch of pieces seperately. I'd also like the garage space for my next bike.

I hear you, I hate to see potential runners parted out. Kills me a little inside to see it. Good luck on finding the next home for it. If you happen to end up out here, I'll take it off your hands! (Got any vacation plans?)
