This is the progress of my Free (bro-in-laws neighbor cleaned out his garage) XJ550 Maxim. It sat in the garage since 1999. I cleaned the carbs and it fired right up. Not gonna be a cruiser anymore. Just got started a few weeks ago and learning along the way and have a ways to go. I'm a MX guy and haven't had a street bike since my 85 Yamaha RZ350.

Are you sure its a maxim? Those look just like the wheels on my 550 seca.

Not a Seca tank. Some sort of hybrid....a Maca! or a Saxim! LOL

Should make a nice little cafe bike. Can't wait to see it finished.

Find some Seca forks; lose the "leading axle" if you want to improve its handling.

(I probably shouldn't tell you that the 550 Seca motor has hotter cams.)
