Ya, really. That's what I was thinking, but thought maybe the midnight special was more "special" than the others...

really nice looking bike but the price sounds way to high to me. But to the right person might be worth it. Heck i paid 4300 for my 99 vmax it was flawless in 07 it had 10k miles

Don't overlook all that gold plating that had to be redone. That gets expensive fast!

Why do you think guys are ready to kill when someone mentions chopping, or bobbing a midnight model. They always trash those gold plated parts, and make them unuseable for restorations. Those parts were only available for that one model year run.

The price sounds about right for that level of detail, and the rarity of the bike. How many other show quality XS1100 midnight bikes have you seen lately?

That closeup of the exhaust doesn't look right. The exhaust on my Midnight Special was more of a black chrome. Great looking ride though!

Ghost isn't kidding either. The detail that was put into this bike, the rare model/engine combo, makes it worth it.

    Plus that's $4200 Canadian, not U.S.

    Worth it in my book.

Dare ya to ask This Guy how much he wants for his 650R

I did ask Ron at www.ronh.org about his bikes, and he said the 650R will go up on eBay some day.

Wow, there's an XS1100 Midnight project for sale by my place for $275. Might have to look back into that one!

I would need more evidence of the level of restore to pay that much. Very nice work though and looks very complete. Somebody out there is willing, but can the seller find that someone? $3000 seems closer to a fair price. You can never get back all the sweat equity and faster, better is still cheaper. Collectors will pay if that's the rare butterfly they must have.

Collectable status is what it's all about, a cherry BMW R90s can fetch $10,000. Brand new they cost $3,400. But in the three years BMW made that model the total number was a bit over 15,000 units. I heard that there were less than 5,000 left. If this is a rare bird who knows what it's really worth.
