82 650 cam shaft bolt torque

    what would be the torque applied to the bolts when re installing the cams? i do not have a manual... i know, i know......

    anyone know the bolt torque to apply?

    Sure, it's 7.2 ft/lb, tightened in 3 stages. (Factory book.) This is where you need an inch-pound micrometer torque wrench, it's easier to split up 86.4 inch/lbs into three stages.

    Camshaft sprocket bolts go to 14.5 ft/lbs.

    This is one of those things that you really need a book for. Screw this up, and you'll bend multiple valves; which will cost a heck of a lot more than a book would have. You can grab a factory book off eBay for usually under $20.

    Here here^^ Bent valves= no bueno. Mucho money to fix. Get a book pronto.
