82 maxim 750 handlebar help

    Help..I wanna junk those two piecers in favor of drag bars...anybody know how to ...what parts I need to modify or buy...any issues with the drags(clearance)

    I know from a few bikes I've dealt with that drag bars tend to impact the tank. You will need to fiddle around with a few sets of bars until you find one that you can adjust to where it doesn't hit. I'll gladly liberate your two piece unit for a standard one piece...

    You will need a pair of 7/8" risers that hold the bars up high enough to clear the tank when you turn them. I'd go with 3" risers and you should be in good shape.

    the drag bars i have didnt hit the tank, but i have a 650

    That upper pair look like the bars off of my 81 & 82 750 Secas.

    I've heard good reports using $20 clubman bars, I did a tank lift on mine and the tops of the fork tubes hit the tank..drag bars would do the same but the clubman bars are close to stock in rise (upside down)with a little pullback, you could put some risers on backwards to place the bars farther in front of the forks and clear the tank. They can be mounted either way depending on which height suits you.
