I'm looking at an '82 Seca 750 with 23,000 kms on the dial that looks to be in nice condition from the seller's pics. Asking price is $1,500 and I'm off tomorrow to have a look but thought I'd ask for some advice on what to look for. Steering head bearings most likely, but is there anything else?

I've been to see the bike and turned out to be a junker. It's amazing how some bikes look so good in the pictures, but are scrap when viewed in person.

It's true. You never know. Conversely, I found an 82 XJ Seca online that looked like crap for $800. When I went to see it in person I was stunned. The thing is in great shape with 8100 original miles. The rubber goods show some age and the seat is worn, but I was pleasantly surprised.
