:?: I know that a lot of 550 Seca owners are probably looking for a bikini fairing for their bikes... I am one of them. Just wondering if anyone has one for sale, preferably red, definitely with the acrylic windshield attached...

Edit your title to WTB, for "Want to Buy" so the lazy readers know you want to purchase and not sell! ;)

If you don't find exactly what you are looking for l have a white fairing with no windshield or hardware.

A fellow fairingless 550 Seca rider.

For the record, the bike as originally designed didn't have that fairing. It looked just like the 550 Secas we know and love; but no fairing.

My '83 didn't come with a fairing; Yamaha dropped it after '82.

I sold the one from my '81 years ago.

Now if we could only get those PIPES!!! (The original XJ, the XJ400.)

Just to clarify...It's the battery side, body-panel side cover I'm looking to trade the fairing for, not the inner batter bay cover.

And in the meantime, here's another photo of the fairing, from a lower angle...

For some reason, those side covers are harder to find than than the left airbox side. Not sure why that is. On my bike the previous owner had drilled a little hole into the edge of the cover and secured it to the frame with a cable tie. I definitely will be doing the same...

They're harder to find because they got taken off/on more than the left due to the battery being there.

Which wears out the grommets making it easier for them to fall off; and more likely to be lost by a PO over time.

    Good idea!

I'll be doing the same, if I ever find one.

I like to remove the rubber bumper and run a zip tie thew the hole and around the frame.
