Hi Guys, After rideing my bike all summer aprox 5000km i had my shifter jam, pulled it apart and found the dreaded chain guide pieces. Winter is now here and I plan on removing the engine this weekend and tearing it down to get together a list of parts to order from Len. Just wanted to know if you guys had any advise for me. anything will help. Been fixing cars for 20 years but this is the first bike tear down for me. I got a Haynes manual for referance but as I can see there is a few guys on here with way more experance then most bike mechanic I know.

    Thanks

The easiest way to pull, or dump your engine

    Overly simplified version:
    1. First off remove the fuel tank, seat, carbs, exhaust, starter, coils, right oil pump cover (see step 3), unbolt the driveshaft yoke, drain the oil, remove oil filter housing.
    2. Disconnect all cables, and wires attached to engine.
    3. Then lay the bike on the right side on blankets, rugs, etc...
    4. Unbolt the engine mounts, and lift the frame off the engine.

A good strong helper would be a bonus to help with the lifting.
