82 Xj550 Maxim Battery install

    Hello! Recently got the bike and finally got the battery in the mail today. When going to install the battery I have 3 wires. Negative, Positive and another black one, Two of them are together both are bolted to clutch casing I believe. I am new to working on stuff like this. I think it goes onto the positive term but It seems like it doesn't have enough cable to make it, if someone could please break this down for me so I can understand where to hook it up exactly so I don't mess anything up I would greatly appreciate it.

    It's a ground wire, do not hook it to the positive terminal of the battery

    This is from the above thread, so it looks like the 550 has an extra wire to ground the motor to the frame

    "your ground for the seca and maxim 550 runs from battery to motor and at the motor connection a smaller wire runs back up to a screw that is in the bottom of the battery box that end connects to the frame."
