Ok... So i recently started bringing another bike back from the dead (promise im gonna do a build thread this time)...

So, i did the church of clean on these carbs, throttle shaft seals, the whole bit... Bench synced my carbs with index cards.... Everything is good except the idle adjustment rod barely touches the plate when bottomed out the whole way. Like a quarter turn and its off the plate. Everything looks to be together right... Any suggestions, im stumped....

You might need to redo your bench sync, but start with the idle adjustment rod/screw turned in about half way.

I tried, none seemed to adequately show it...

And as far as the bench sync goes, the butterflies close the whole way when i back it off a bit..,

Got the throttle shafts mixed up?
Got the bottom rail turned around the wrong way?
    Got a butterfly backwards?

If non of the above, I'll try to recreate the situation with a set here-----

Reset all the linkage screws so that the "flats" are half way. The one between 3&4 looks quit high for 4. That could hold things out of line. 4 will be all the way closed and not allow 3 to close. That will hold the screw landing to far way from the idle speed screw.
Remember, everything guides off of throttle shaft 3.....

Thanks Dave! Between that, and the butterflies for 2 + 3 being a couple of degrees off... That was it. I hate it when you keep staring at something for so long, that nothing makes sense any longer...

May just be the angle of the camera causing a optical illusion. Did you use a known flat surface like a piece of glass to align the carb bodies?
