I am interested in replacing the stock adjustable bars on my '82 Max 750, and was wondering if anyone here has any experience with this. I would like to go to a slightly flatter bar that doesn't turn my wrists in as much as the stock bars.
Specifically, I'm wondering what you had to do to accomodate 'standard' handlebars.
    Thanks,
    Bill in GA

Many years ago,I put a set of K+N Super bike bars on a 1982 XJ750,and was impressed with the improvement. If memory serves correctly,I merely removed the entire handlebar assembly from the triple clamp, and installed the stock risers from a 650 Special. I also had to enlarge the holes in the triple clamp to accept the 650 risers, but all-in-all, a very easy and worthwhile modification. Hope this helps, and best of luck to you.
