82 XJ750 Maxim oil

    Hello fellow riders. The Haynes manual calls for 20W/40 for my engine. I have only been able to find 10W/40. Here in Alberta Canada our average summer temperatures are around 77 to 85 Farenheit. Or lower. Am I using a suitable oil or should I broaden my search?

    The simple answer is Shell Rotella T4 15W/40

    Amazon had a sale recently. I got three gallons on Rotella T4 for $23.52. That’s $7.84 per gallon

    It’s about the small victories.. :D

    Walmart sometimes puts it on sale too, but that is a real deal! That's almost criminal!

    If I looked correctly at the label when I bought a gallon last month the T-4 Triple Protection has been superseded, so you likely bought a closeout.
