Its up on the center stand. Preload at slackest first setting and I am measuring 12.5 inches center to center on the mounting bolts. Is this the correct measurement? I see some other aftermarket shocks listed for this bike at 12.5 inches and 13 inches. I'd rather keep it stock. Anyone got a proper length handy? Thanks.

12 1/2" is the correct stock length. The extended length isn't as critical as the loaded length. Progressive Suspension calls this the "ride height" which obviously varies by how many donuts you've eaten.

From input on this site and elsewhere, the heavy duty version of Progressive's 412 series shock is preferred. I'm planning to get a set of those.
