    hmmmm,
i always associated the YZF prefix to be with sports bikes, not heard of a tourer with it, what cc is it, and what comes after the YZF bit ?

That looks like a XVZ venture royale, from memory it has a VMax engine. I wouldn't be brave enough to take that one on - looks like trouble.

Tons of them around missing broken body panels for cheap because there are so few spare panels to be had.

It is a Venture Royale, but that engine is not tuned the same as the one in the V-Max. Same basic engine though.

As mentioned the YZF is the race-rep family of bikes.

That’s a venture (xvz12) 1200. The venture 12 and venture 13 share the basic engine with the vmax1200. The v-boost and some other little things make the biggest difference between them.
Be aware that the venture 1200 had a known 2nd gear issue that was corrected for the venture 1300.

that one looks quite rough, but— if you build it right, they are plenty sporty and a real good ride.

I too have seen these bikes around my area for good prices. To strip one down as a rat bike or mad Max bike was the plan. I just have not taken the plunge as it just seems too much work. I guess it could really be a nice bike and if you dropped a lot of weight on the bike, could be bad a@@.

I am not too sure what it would take or if it would even be possible to return the engine to make it like a VMax? Cost and time would be the the issues. Once it was done and done right, could be a really fun sleeper bike.

Swap a used V-Max engine in. Otherwise it'll be a money pit.
