83 750 maxim leak at rearend

    Hey so i was riding my bike today... on the back of the drive shaft theres 4 bolts that hold the hub and shaft together.... then stright back from thats a bolt... im guessing the fill hole.... at 12 oclock on thehub middle top between those to parts is a black round cap lookin thing.. i cant seem to move it.. not sure how.. but iv got a lil leak from that... wish i had proper names.... what is it? Y is it leaking?How to stop it from leaking.... pic is not of my bike but same part.. the thing is the black cap 12 oclock from the yamaha name

    That's the breather. Under certain conditions oil can burp out of it. Wipe it off and ride on. The hex bolt just behind the axle is the fill port. The gear oil should be level with the bottom of that hole when on the center stand. The hex bolt at the bottom of the housing is the drain.

    Get yourself a service manual.
