So i recently acquired an 83 turbo that had been sitting for a couple years. It did fire right up surprisingly but i noticed some leaks and the bike was gunked up from the oil gas dirt and whatever else she might have seen. I had already planned on doing a little work but the more i thought about it the more i didnt like doing just enough to get it rideable nope not doing that again this time ill do it right. Rideable reliable and SAFE. I started wrenching on her about a week ago detailing piece by piece as it comes off so itll just be a quick wipe down when the time comes to reassemble. I havent made it much past the rear tire figured id start at the back after a quick wash so the fluids up front would have time to tell me where they are seaping through but thats not here nor there. I noticed the air box has been cut on and some vacuum/ gas lines dont look correct. If they're not correct it would be pointless of taking note on where each line went SO what im really looking for is a reference sheet for all the vacuum and gas lines. I tried to find one on here myself but came up with nothing.
    Thanks

The octopus is on the 1100, not the 700

There should be both a fuel hose routing diagram and an fuel overflow hose routing decal affixed under the seat (stuck to bottom of the seat pan).

Is that capped line on the turbo supposed to be capped or running to something?
The line coming out into a 90 supposed to be open? 14925760581121520429328.jpg

Not really the greatest picture but if you look closely there's a chunk missing from the mounting hole on this boot and the three others I pulled off. Is this something from the factory that was offered? I'm stumped can't figure out why the need to cut half the bolt holes like that would be

My bet is someone couldn't get the bolts out/stripped the socket cap, so cut the bolt hole to remove

I guess cutting em out makes sense to some personally I wouldn't have approached it like that but they did OK I reckon there's no marks I could see on the block but then again I haven't completely got all the gasket and sealer used off either smh
    thanks guys

This sounds like super simple and needy of me but I know there is a link to buy stuff just for the turbo bikes. Everytime I click on it it says it's a bad link or something another like that would one of y'all be able to drop a link on here??

Because those aren't the correct intake manifolds for a turbo engine. The "33M" casting on the flange face indicates that they are for a 1986-88 FZ600 model, and those most likely have a smaller throat and a lesser spacing between the bolt holes than the original turbo intakes......so, to "make them fit" they hacked off an edge on one of the bolt holes (to make it a "slotted hole", because that sort of engineering is exactly how a professional would do it, too!).

You need the correct manifolds, surge box boots, etc. to make a turbo bike run properly. Messing around with intake/exhaust/carb components on one of these bikes is asking for additional time, expense, and frustrations..........

Yes that's where I go then scroll down to the parts catalog where I find this link I click it takes me to the picture below

    http://www.xjbikes.com/Forums/viewforum/f=23.html
Screenshot_20170422-155133.png Am I doing something wrong here? I wish there was a paperback parts catalog with prices and ordering info n such I'd buy me one of them real quick.

Chacal I have no absolutely no intention of doing anything other than back to factory for the intake and exhaust. I'm not sure where you get your info or if you're just that knowledgeable and well rounded that you pull it from your head idk but it's wonderful stay smart lol

That link is a legacy from when the catalog was being updated. The links above that are what you will be looking through. Parts are organized by system, then by model within each category.
It's faster to just start a conversation with Chacal and tell him what you need.

One of the great parts about the catalog is all of the technical information that Chacal has in it. It's well worth looking through.
I think of it as being a tribute to the wish book (Sears Catalog).

Never heard of this "wish book" I have the "Wish" app it's about like Amazon they have some decent deals lol didn't know Sears did catalogs either they do email about some promotions tho

It's been close to a year now since I've opened up the catalog and looked at anything but last time was for forks I believe and seemed like there was install directions and what bikes had what along with specs for each I guess I could go back and look at forks but mmm na there was tons of info without a doubt and Chacal compiled all that? Impressive. I'm gonna have to go back thru it I need all info I can get

You need to be of a certain age to recall the Sears Catalog Wish Book . . . . I forgot all about until just now, Kmoe just blew my mind. As soon as I read that I could smell the glossy pages and recall the heft of the catalog. It was good to be a kid and be dazzled by materialistic things.

The Monky-Wards catalog was pretty good too.
