That's a long list on things done to it, and things it still needs...
People don't line their gas tanks without reason. Carbs overhaulled and still need tuning... sounds like it sat for a while.

In good condition, that's a good price. In really nice condition it could be higher.

Funny, to the best of my knowledge the airheads are actually the more rare ones. It's a funny occurence, though..................there were more X's made than airheads, so the airheads are more rare, BUT.......there are less X's around now so they have become 'more rare'. I imagine that there are less X's around since people whipped them.

Just because it has the tall backrest doesn't make it more rare. The tall backrest is an option that was available and is now fairly rare, as is the sport rack.

I have no clue what those case guards are from........they don't look original to me, and the pegs are not original.

I'd also think that for a $1200 price, both mirrors would be on it.

My 2 cents worth at the moment...............

and that's about what it's worth. Last summer I paid $1900 for an '85 X; but it had only 9k miles and was in near perfect working order (no wobble, no rust, no dents).

24,000+ miles takes it's toll; plus small stuff like the missing left tank emblem, the jacked up left 5-valve cover, the missing left chrome horn piece, painted over oil pump covers, etc. are a pain to fix/find/replace if a guy wanted to do a nice stock restore.

The sad truth is that even in near mint condition it would be hard to find someone who would pay much more than $3,000 for one of these. Doesn't matter to me; I'll never sell mine - so I don't have to worry about trying to get back what I put in.
