Just bought an 85 XJ 700. Has 30k and from what little I've rode it seems to run great.

I paid $1000 for it. Does this seem like a good deal? How many miles are these bikes usually good for?

    Good deal!
They obviously knocked some off the price because of the TASSELS!

    Enjoy the ride! 8)

it could also be because of the neat O paint color or the grooovy seat pattern. Not a bad deal though. I have a stock xj 700 for sale with 11k miles on it with a mac exhaust for 700ish, needs tires though

You know... I really like the seat! There's something very 60's detroit about it! And c'mon! Everybody likes purple!!

Seriously though... The tassels have to go!

Ok, so i picked up the bike...and the tassels were gone. It almost threw off the deal but the purple & seat make up for it.

    Here's an updated pic:

consider yourself lucky the tassels wear gone. First off I think they're tacky. second of If you ride at more than 40 mph they whip around and leave welts on your arms.

I really like the purple....I ALMOST did my X in a color similar to that.

Personally don't like the seat though (just my taste)

Pay attention to the bottom of the saddle bag location. Many bags have been toasted with the up angle of the mufflers.
