So after 22 years in a barn she is now up and running again!
All electrical systems work except for the eletronic tach.
I do not have the repair manual. All wires from the coils look OK. Lights in the clusters work too.
I don;t want to pull the cluster apart if there are known issues with these tachs. I am new to the XJ700. All the wiring at the coils looks good.
Anyone out there have the same issue?
    Thanks !

    Hey,

After that long it's probably gummed up if you're confident the electrical is ok... Here's a link that talks about how to clean it out. Basically you'll need to douche out the action and apply some lightweight oil. This happened to my 650 and after cleaning it out it works much better, although i have to tap the housing to get it moving. Good luck!
