Its not a big problem. But sometimes when I come to a stop it will idle about 2,000 rpm. Ill rev it and it will come down. Then I went to try to change the plugs in it
And couldn't get the socket down in there. I'm I haven a blonde moment or is there a special tool?

Ok. Well I kinda had the blonde moment. I learned that my bike isn't just the xj700 but the xj700x I guess. I looked and bought the wrong plugs. That's why I couldnt change them. As for the idle its still doing it. But I'm going to try and clean the carbs I Just don't want to mess with them. But it runs so not to worried about it.

Carbs maybe dirty or just a bit out of adjustment. If you're just idling high after it's warmed up make sure your choke plungers are closed and there's slack in the cable. If that checks out give your idle speed knob a slight turn out. About 1/4 to 1/2 turn is all it'll take. Do it when the bike is idling high.
