85 xj700 Pickup coil ground wire.

    Hello and thanks for everyone's help on getting my XJ up and running. I have a small and hopefully easy fix problem. I am in the process of installing a new Pickup coil wire and do not know or see where the ground wire goes, it's behind the kickstand switch. Can it go on any bolt on the Engine or does it need to go on the Frame. After this it's add some gas and a new battery and see what happens. Thanks again for all the help. Donho

    I would imagine as long as it is grounded it will be okay. I cannot remember where mine is as my bike is undergoing a complete rebuild right now but I think it was behind the kickstand switch.
